John Wilkinson’s beautiful The Factory at the End of Our Street can be found on Gibraltar Street. It’s part of the Kelham Island Arts & Cultural Heritage Trail which is transforming the telecommunications cabinets around the area into colourful works of art.

This once green utility cabinet has been painted using acrylic paints with scenes of times past from the area which was once Sheffield’s industrial heartland.

I first spotted this as a work in progress and caught John Wilkinson putting the finishing touches to his work. It has taken several weeks to paint, partly due to the weather. The end result is amazing.
