Last night was the annual Keith Hayman Awards, held in the Site Gallery. The yearly event was established to celebrate and promote public artwork in Sheffield. Two awards are given: one for a sculpture and one for a mural.

This year, Peachzz’s beautiful Pond Street artwork won the mural award. Her colourful piece was recognised for transforming an otherwise dull stretch by the bus station with her colourful design.

Peachzz’s wall is a celebration of community and reconnecting with nature. Its colour scheme complements the buildings in the background.

This mural has proven extremely popular amongst Street Art Sheffield’s followers. It is a well deserved win.

Rob Lee’s ‘Aberrate’ mural on Howard Lane was also acknowledged with a commendation. Again, another brilliant artwork that has transformed the space it now occupies.

The sculpture award went to George King’s Covid Memorial in Balm Green Gardens.

These awards commemorate Keith Hayman, a founder member of Sheffield Civic Trust. He sadly died in 2023. The awards were initiated in his memory. His widow and son were at last night’s award ceremony and handed out the awards.
